Maria Baldwin
Manager
Maria is a manager in the Accounts department and joined Wisteria in October 2021. She manages a small team as well as working with other departments to provide a good service.
Prior to joining Wisteria, Maria has 20 years of experience in practice, working in audit and accounts. Outside of work, she enjoys socialising with friends & family and loves travelling to different countries and enjoying their food and culture. She also enjoys keeping fit with hot yoga and dancing.
What led you to pursue a career in your current role, and how did you get started in the field?
I studied Accountancy at University and really enjoyed my degree leading to my chosen career. I started off in practice doing audit and accounts whilst studying for my ACA exams. I stayed at this practice for 10 years and left to go on maternity. Whilst at the firm I become very experienced producing accounts in CaseWare and as a result started working as a consultant putting their accounts on CaseWare and offering them support in this department. I did this for another 10 years before starting at Wisteria as an accounts manager.
What do you enjoy most about your job, and what do you find most challenging?
I love the coaching and training aspect of my role, helping the team develop and achieving their own career goals. The most challenging aspect of my job is meeting billing targets each month.
What do you believe are the most important qualities for success in your current role, and how do you strive to embody those qualities in your work?
Delivering good quality work and provide good customer service in a timely manner.
