Declan Dean-Joseph
Associate
Declan Joined Wisteria in September 2023 and works within the Audit & Assurance department.
Declan studied Accounting and Financial management at Loughborough University. In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis, going to the cinema, and exploring new places with friends and family.
What led you to pursue a career in your current role, and how did you get started in the field?
I wanted my first post-university job to be in Finance because I enjoyed studying my degree and wanted to put the skills and knowledge learned to good practical use in a challenging role. Auditing appealed to me because it’s a client-facing role that means I get to meet new people from different sectors of industry.
What do you enjoy most about your job, and what do you find most challenging?
The best part of the job is coming into the office and seeing everyone I work with. It’s a very fun, lively, professional environment. I love that every day there is a new challenge, whether that’s learning new technical concepts of audit or supporting the team on a new assignment. The most challenging part is trying to manage my expectations of what is possible to achieve in a given day and finding a healthy work-life balance during the busy season.
What do you believe are the most important qualities for success in your current role, and how do you strive to embody those qualities in your work?
I think the most important qualities in my role are time management and good communication . In my role, I need to be able to prioritise the ongoing jobs and have the confidence to communicate with my team and the client about the best way forward to completing the assignment in hand.
